Kimberly’s family law knowledge, gained over 30 years of law practice, is an asset to her clients. Kimberly is proud to be a second-generation attorney, following in the footsteps of her Father. She is passionate about the practice of law and recognizes the important role it serves in the lives of her clients.
Kimberly is a successful family law litigation attorney. She has participated in advanced courtroom trial skills training by nationally recognized litigation experts. Kimberly’s desire to be the most effective advocate in the courtroom for her clients led her to take part in advanced litigation training. She completed a 7-day intensive trial advocacy training at the American Bar Association Family Law Section, Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute in Houston, Texas. She has also completed trial skills seminars taught by national expert, Roger Dodd, both the Roger Dodd Trial Skills Clinic and Roger Dodd Advanced Trial Skills Clinic.
Kimberly’s leadership and active participation in both the Oklahoma Bar Association and Tulsa County Bar Association set her apart from other family law attorneys. The opportunity to serve fellow attorneys also enhances her knowledge of Oklahoma law, offers her the opportunity to monitor legislation affecting family law and stay current in the technology advances needed to efficiently prepare and present a client’s case.
Kimberly was elected to serve as the 2018 President of the Oklahoma Bar Association. She was honored to represent the attorneys of Oklahoma and traveled throughout the State meeting fellow lawyers and members of the judiciary.
Kimberly has been a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association (OBA) Family Law Section and also a member of the Tulsa County Bar Association (TCBA) Family Law Section since 1993. Kimberly has also accepted leadership positions in both Sections and has served as Chair of each Section in addition to other leadership roles.
Her active participation and leadership for over a decade in the Family Law Section, both State and Tulsa County levels, contributes to her expertise in the area of family law. As a leader in the Family Law Section, she is always up to date on family law related proposed legislation and statutes, family law related appellate decisions, and changing procedures and rules in Tulsa County family law courts.
Kimberly is a frequent presenter and teaches on many different family law topics for continuing legal education (CLE) programs, which are attended by fellow attorneys. From 2007 to present, Kimberly has also contributed to the planning of family law related CLE programs. Kimberly also has participated as a faculty member (teaching) for the OBA Family Law Section Trial Advocacy Institute, a program which teaches attorneys important litigation skills used in representing a client in a hearing or trial in front of a Judge.
In 2020, Kimberly was honored to receive from the OBA Family Law Section the first “Lifetime Achievement Award”. Kimberly was the recipient of the 2011 OBA Family Law Section “Family Law Attorney of the Year”. Kimberly’s contributions to family law earned her recognition by the OBA Family Law Section Chair by receiving the OBA Family Law Section “Chair Award” in five different years (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2021).
Stephanie A. Pierce is a Certified Paralegal (CP) with over 20 years of family law experience. She has worked with Kimberly Hays since 1998. Stephanie is a member of the Tulsa County Bar Association- Paralegal Section. She is also a member of NALA.
Stephanie graduated from Northeastern State University with B.S. in Criminal Justice. She earned the credentials of a Certified Paralegal in 2000 from NALA (the accreditation association for Certified Paralegals). https://nala.org/certification/ To maintain her paralegal certification, Stephanie attends yearly continuing legal education seminars related to family law.
Working under the supervision of an attorney, the paralegal’s work product is merged with and becomes part of the attorney’s work product for a client. A paralegal assists lawyers in the delivery of legal services. The utilization of paralegals helps reduce the costs to the client.
Stephanie is a skilled paralegal and an integral part of the family law representation. She is knowledgeable in complex discovery preparation and trial preparation processes. Stephanie often attends trial with Kimberly and assists in the organization and other aspects of the hearing.
She has developed a wide range of contacts with other support staff, attorneys, and the courthouse staff. One of her many outstanding qualities is her ability to communicate with attorneys, other legal assistants, Judges, courthouse personnel, and clients in a professional manner.
Clients appreciate Stephanie’s compassion and professionalism. The practice of domestic litigation is filled with emotions. Stephanie is patient and encouraging with clients as she recognizes the path of family law litigation can be stressful.
